I have had the privilege of interacting with some of the most successful women in the world. Over time, I became curious about the rituals and practices that make up their lives. How is it that they achieve so much and stay ahead? These questions led me to create the I Succeed Podcast for Women, where I’ve had the chance to take a peek into their lives. What I discovered was eye-opening—it’s not just about the habits they develop but also about the ones they choose to give up.
Holding onto unproductive habits is like trying to move forward while carrying unnecessary baggage. It slows you down and keeps you from reaching your full potential. The women I spoke to all emphasized one thing: it’s pointless to add new habits when the old ones are still weighing you down. To create space for new habits that help you achieve your goals faster, you need to let go of the ones that don’t serve you. Based on these powerful conversations, I’ve compiled a list of ten habits successful women practice giving up in their journey toward growth and success.
Trying to please everyone
Saying yes too often
Spending unproductive time
Trying to do it all
Know-it-all attitude
Disconnecting yourself socially
Being unsupportive of other women
Putting yourself last
Ignoring the finances
Struggling to speak up
Take a moment to reflect on your own life. Which of these habits might be holding you back? Begin by choosing one habit to give up today. Start small and notice the difference it makes in your journey. I’d love to hear your thoughts—what habits will you give up today to create space for growth? Share your progress with me in the comments.
