I often say, "Communication works for those who work on themselves." One of the biggest challenges facing leaders, teachers, entrepreneurs, and professionals today is communication. Having coached countless CEOs and leaders on this very topic, I always emphasize that effective communication starts with connection.


To communicate well, you need to connect, and connecting is all about others. It’s about understanding, listening, and putting people first. I once heard a powerful line in a talk show that has stuck with me: "If you help people get what they want, they will help you get everything you want."


This principle is at the core of meaningful communication. Building lasting connections and relationships should be your focus because communication is 90% about connecting and only 10% about convincing.


So, take a moment to reflect: Are you just communicating, or are you truly connecting? Connection is where the magic happens—it’s what turns ordinary conversations into powerful collaborations and lasting partnerships.
