Finish what you start. You know, there is a Chinese story told of a man called Lixin. His wife was very peaceful and virtuous, loved and respected dearly by her husband. Once, Lixin went to a distant place to study classics with a talented teacher, leaving his wife alone at home. One day, while his wife was weaving on the loom, Lixin suddenly returned home. At his arrival, his wife seemed quite worried and immediately asked why he had come back so soon. The husband replied, "Oh, how I really missed you, and I want to stay here with you." His wife, however, grew angry with his decision, advising him to have fortitude and not be overly indulged in home and love.
The wife then took a pair of scissors and cut down what she had been weaving on the loom, leaving Lixin puzzled. She explained, "If something is stopped halfway, it is just like the cut cloth on the loom. The cloth will only be useful if finished, but now it is nothing but a mess. And so is it with your studies." Lixin was greatly moved by her words. With renewed determination, he left home and returned to his studies, resolute in his mission. He did not return to see his beloved wife until he had gained significant achievements.
What about you, my friend? Do you also start a project with excitement but end up giving up halfway? If you want to finish strong, if you want to experience the satisfaction of reaching your destination, it is imperative to keep moving ahead without giving up. One of the best qualities any leader can develop is the ability to finish what they start. Your Good Friend and Mentor
