HOW TO NOT LET FEAR HOLD YOU BACK

What should one do so that fear does not hold them back? Well, think about your biggest career goal. Why haven't you accomplished it yet? If you're like most people, the answer is basic fear. Fear is the limiting factor stopping you from working towards what you want. Fear distracts us and leads us to give more and more excuses. Today in the corporate world, there are opportunities all around us, but most of us don't grab these opportunities because of fear. Fear of failure, fear of the inability to perform, fear of balancing home and office. Fear of taking up more responsibility, fear of being incompetent to finish the task, fear of uncertainty. And these fears hold us back from moving towards our career goals. In fact, even the most successful people I have coached, they also feel like they are living in fear of some time.

So what I tell them is to learn how to turn their shoulds into musts. Well, rather than allowing fear to creep in and suck the life right out of your dreams in your mind, if you have no choice but to succeed but to get it done. If achieving your goal is an absolute must for you, then let me tell you nothing else matters. You will do whatever it takes to make it happen. So imagine yourself at the end of your career life reflecting on how you shaped your career path.

Think that if you did not achieve the goal that you wanted to, what will be your regrets? What do you wish that you had made more time for? What do you wish you had attempted? Is there unfulfillment and regret? Are you wondering what if? What if I would have done it in this way you can use your fear to propel you towards your ultimate goal. So may your choices be a reflection of your hopes and not your fears.
